The Australian Technical College - Adelaide South is a non-government technical college funded by the Australian Government. The Australian Technical College - Adelaide South is industry led with a governing board representing industry groups and members of ATEC (Adelaide Training and Employment Centre - formerly PATDC). ATEC is a non profit training and employment provider.
Our vision
To develop new ways of combining the world of work and traditional trade skills with underpinning academic knowledge, resulting in a successful transition to work and the commmunity.
So what makes this tech college different?
The Australian Technical College - Adelaide South (ATC-AS) will ensure that skills training, education and mentoring assists students to achieve their potential in their chosen career along with addressing the current skills shortage in Australia. While studying at the tech College students will commence an Australian School-based Apprenticeship (ASbA) allowing them to gain vocational as well as technical qualifications whilst undertaking their SACE, providing a "flying start" to a trade career.
The Australian Technical College - Adelaide South provides innovative and flexible training and teaching, enabling students to achieve their South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and to gain paid employment within a School-based Apprenticeship(ASbA). The tech College is industry led, with its governing board made up of industry leaders – this is what sets it apart from other schools and apprenticeship schemes. In addition the College is supported by a large number of key partners and business groups within the southern region. We are committed to working in partnership with industry and the business community.
The Australian Technical College - Adelaide South has developed a very personalized approach to each individual student's learning. This personalized approach combines the best educational practices with the highly qualified teaching and training staff to deliver outstanding results.
The College offers students the opportunity to undertake trade training and complete their SACE. Trade training is offered in :

- Building and Construction
- Electrotechnology
